Some Quick Updates
Otherwise Both Of My Subscribers Will Think I'm Dead
Okay. Okay. The sub-headline is a MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 type of joke for me. That’s because I don’t keep track of subscribers. I have some future features planned for LANTZ’S LAMENTS. However, I’ve got writing deadlines that need my attention. That’s why this will be a short one. I’ve been assigned two BACK ISSUE articles, and I’ve handed in one of a series of shorter pieces on some of my favorite horror films that should be published in another TwoMorrrows Publishing magazine, CRYPTOLOGY. More news on those when TwoMorrows puts out previews. I’m still working on my novel manuscript. Plus, 1325 Publishing’s Substack has been kind enough to publish two of five stories I wrote during the 2020 lockdown. They are based on public domain comic book characters. Check them out in my recent restacks or on their newsletter.
It makes senses that a LANTZ’S LAMENTS Subscribtion won’t cost any cents.
I celebrated my 53rd birthday on March 10, 2026. i took some time to enjoy some things I love like reading, watching my favorite films and television series, listening to audio dramas, playing video games and, most of all enjoying time with my wife and our family of pets and humans. I’m currently 83% into episode six of the Playstation 5 edition of DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH and in the middle of reading the novelization of the first game. I finished playing DEATH STRANDING 1’S director’s cut in, I think, November or December. My god awful sense of direction prevented me from ending it sooner. I also finished the first episode of STAR TREK: STARFLEET ACADEMY, a third viewing of James Gunn’s SUPERMAN, a second viewing of the pilot of the horribly CONSTANTINE TV show and a first reading Greg Cox’s STAR TREK: THE ORIGINAL SERIES novel FOUL DEEDS SHALL RISE in the past few months or so.
While I wish I could type as fast as Superman at times, I am enjoying my assignments and writing in general. It’s great therapy for me alongside cardioboxing. I put on either my playlist of Prince, Michael Jackson, James Brown, Lenny Kravitz, David Bowie, Queen, George Michael and various 1980s music or an audiobook or old radio show, and just start writing away, which is what I’m going to do now. In the meantime. Stay safe, take it easy, and enjoy yourself.
